“This is why your gas isnt the same.” President Joe Biden, issued and directed the U.S Environmental Protection Agency to issue an “emergency waiver” which has changed the typical gas blend of fuel to now include 15% ethanol, which is to be sold this summer. Furthermore, is Biden’s new fuel waver 15% ethanol ruining your engine?
This new fuel blend named “E15” was usually illegal due to its contribution to smog, high air pollution, and high temperatures. The average air quality due to the new E15 gas, an inferior product to the normal concentration, will now be significantly worse. Because of this, there is a growing concern about the lifecycle of the average vehicle. As a result, many Americans are concerned about the new tooled out E15 gas which was once illegal.
Media Regarding E15 Gas
What does this mean for you?
Here’s a a Facebook post on the new E15 gas rollout which was flagged by Facebook for misinformation: “Anyone that uses gasoline – sure you heard the gov’t will be selling E15 gasoline to lower prices. Do ya’ll have any idea what that could do to the internal components of your engine?” the April 12 post said. “Ethanol is a corn by-product, folks, it’s proven to gum up and ruin carburetors on all of your 2 and 4 cycle engines…Boy…they really want us to go electric…don’t they?”
Further Explanation
“One of the major complaints by E15 opponents is that ethanol can corrode many of the plastics, metals, and rubber components used in internal-combustion engines and their fuel systems. Hence, using fuel with a higher concentration of ethanol than the manufacturer recommends may damage your vehicle.” It concludes: “Save that 10 cents a gallon, but ruin your engine…”
Conclusion
In short, this new E15 gas burns faster, that means more trips to the pump. The new E15 rollout also may cause some damages to vehicles below the years 2001. As stated by many owners and denied by cooperation’s who profit off the cheaper gas, it may possibly damage plastic components and parts of the engine of vehicles.
